Breakthrough in Denver, Colorado

That morning, I was honored to speak at Denver First Church of the Nazarene, a church pastored by the son of a friend of our friend, Sam Brownback. What was even cooler, though, was the connection through our mutual friend, Ron Salsbury, another Naz pastor, who, along with his wife, Cathi, are good friends of ours from Pismo Beach, CA, the very place where we saw notable breakthrough almost two years ago, just as I'd started back to full-time travel after being benched for health reasons.

The morning servies were extremely powerful...God really gave a word-in-season. The prayer gathering on the Capitol's Portico was beyond anything I've experienced in the 43 capitals before Denver. As with all breakthrough things of the Lord, it's hard to articulate. You had to be there. Some of that "sense of awe" stuff talked about in the second chapter of Acts.

Really looking forward to seeing Pastor Shawn Siegfreid and all these sweet folks again. Thanks for walking by faith, Shawn, to extend the last-minute invitation. God's hand is truly on your state!

Our daughter, Michelle, made Denver happen. With all the re-working of our Western US schedule (to include Juneau and Honolulu), it would have been much easier to do Denver last Friday, but Mickey-Pie really asked me to pray about coming Sunday...so her husband, Adam, who serves our country at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, could join us. At the end of an AWESOME day at the Capitol, everyone thanked Michelle for her faithful and bold counsel to her dad. Hallelujah!

As folks were still arriving at the Capitol, Deanna was riding over with another good friend of ours, Rita Witten, and they'd lost their way. You can see me answering her call.

A brother from Focus on the Family drove up to record much of the event "live" and to do an interview. I'll try to share the post.

Michelle (on right) and her friend from the Springs, Hillary, walking up the steps. There were already so many folks assembled on the front steps, we honestly thought another event was underway.

People kept coming. We couldn't all fit in the portico at the top of the stairs.
