Dear Fellow Pastor/Leader...
After prayerwalking 20,000 miles across the length and breadth of the nation, we are about to launch a "suddenly" prayerwalk from Charlotte to Washington DC.
I don't want to prayerwalk through your backyard without your blessing…so please let me know when you and I could chat for a few minutes by phone, to get acquainted and explore how our mission might be a blessing to your church and your community.
A little background… I'm a "Roman Bapticostal," ordained under Pastor Jack Hayford, who remains a close family friend and spiritual Papa to this day. By God's grace and under Jack's tutelage, I've not had to unlearn why everybody needs do things "my way." On that note, please allow me point to out what Pentecost Walk is NOT:
It's not "Pentecost-AL” Walk, denoting a single slice of the broader denominational bandwidth; it's "Pentecost” Walk, underscoring the Ephesians 4:3 "unity of the Spirit" we're all endeavoring to walk in, a unity impossible until Pentecost, our common birthdate as the New Testament Church. Many of our prayerwalks are called "RE:Union Walks..."
: literally: regarding union
: origin: Christ’s “High Priestly Prayer:”
“…that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in
Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17:21 HCSB, emphasis added)
1: an act of reuniting, especially through repentance-in-unity : the state of being reunited
2: the reuniting of a people after forgiveness of divisions : oneness in Christ
We want to be a blessing to you...before we arrive, while we're with you, and especially, after we're gone. Two simple things we're hoping for: 1) to share God's call to repentance-in-unity with whomever you and your fellow leaders might gather to listen, and 2) to invite you and your friends to prayerwalk with us, for as little or as long as you like.
I look forward to speaking with you as soon as possible. Thank you.
Yours for His harvest,
Rev.Tom Demaree, Founder/Director of Pentecost Walk, has prayerwalked over 16,000 miles across the length and breadth of the country, bringing God’s message of repentance-in-unity to the body of Christ by coming alongside pastors and leaders as a brother and a friend. To date, these joint-efforts have touched all 50 states, involving thousands of churches. As a speaker and singer/songwriter, Tom brings the word of the Lord in a refreshingly plainspoken manner—a safe haven for the listener, whether conservative or charismatic. By God’s grace and favor alone, his life has been catalytic to many embracing a deeper intimacy with Christ, and through that intimacy, rediscovering the joy of His unity with one another.
Tom served on staff under Pastor Jack Hayford in the mid-eighties and two subsequent West Coast churches before devoting himself fully to trans-local ministry in the late nineties. A self-described "Roman Bapticostal," he and his wife, Deanna, have three children and one son-in-law (no grandchildren yet), ages 23-30. When not on the road, they make their home in Franklin, Tennessee.
