Columbus, OH - Friday 7/24/2015
- In each city, scores of believers from churches of every color and culture will come together for a short but powerful prayerwalk…not in a spirit of militancy, but in genuine brokenness. No politics, no fanfare: just repentance-in-unity.
- We will gather together (at a church, stadium, etc.) for one hour before commencing our prayerwalk, where we will do three things:
Worship together
Receive a brief exhortation from Pastor Tom on "repentance-in-unity"
Pray together before heading out the door
After the indoor gathering we will begin prayerwalking from there (or caravan to a designated parking area, to re-group at a pre-determined starting line) for a short prayerwalk (1 to 1.5 miles).
Strollers, wheelchairs, mobility scooters and walkers are welcome. No bicycles or skateboards, please.
Note: To walk in agreement as a people, we will prayerwalk in silence, as an “illustrated sermon” of repentance-in-unity, preparing our hearts in solemnity for spoken prayer at our destination. Therefore, please refrain from the use of shofars, tambourines, instruments, flags, banners or fanfare of any kind. Thank you.
“Do not be rash with your mouth, and do not let your heart be quick to utter a word before God. For God is in heaven, and you are on earth; therefore, let your words be few.” – Ecclesiastes 5:2 (LEB)
- Once at our "public square" destination (Capitol, City Hall, etc.), we will declare the National Prayer of Repentance together. Pastor Tom will again lead us, as we continue to pray extemporaneously, as the Spirit leads, for a brief time.
